Our longstanding experience with air pollution enforcement started in government and continues today. We work to resolve enforcement cases when in the clients’ best interest. When settlement is inadvisable, we aggressively defend the cases.
Compliance Counseling
Using our knowledge of air pollution law and long-time relationships with government regulators, we advise our clients on solutions to their air compliance problems, or help them avoid these problems altogether.
Permits
Because our clients vary in size from large to small, their air pollution permits range in complexity from federally required new source review permits and Title V permits to state-imposed permits to install and operate minor sources. In some cases, we advise clients on the available options for avoiding new source review or other permitting requirements altogether. Where permits are required, we assist our clients in the application process by advising them on permit requirements, negotiating permit conditions with government officials, and filing administrative appeals to contest unduly stringent or costly permits. We also defend our clients’ permits when neighbors or other persons appeal them.
